What Is A Care Access Pro (CAP)?

CAPs make a difference in the lives of people with chronic illness by traveling to their homes and helping them access the care they need.

Learn New Skills.

All CAPs attend a mix of virtual and live classes at HealPros University before doing appointments with Health Plan Members in their homes. You will learn technical skills like how to operate a fundus camera to perform Retinal Screenings. You’ll also develop your ability to engage and connect with people navigating chronic illness. Plus, our commitment to learning means we’re always building new classes to help you advance your career with HealPros and beyond.

Most of the people CAPs visit are struggling to manage their chronic illnesses. We have a unique opportunity to discover what is preventing them from accessing the care they need - and helping them do just that. Whether we are preventing blindness by performing Retinal Screenings, helping people find ways to save on prescriptions, or preventing ER visits by addressing fall risks, everything we do centers around changing lives for the better.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our CAPs get paid every two weeks. They get a per-visit fee for each completed appointment. The amount can range from $25-$35 per appointment, depending on what actions are performed in the home.

  • Our national call center is responsible for calling and scheduling appointments with health plan members in your area. CAPs can easily view their appointments via an app on their phone.

  • Healthcare experience is not necessary to become a CAP, although we would love to have you if you do! Our team will teach you everything you need to know to perform this role.
