These are preventative and non-invasive screenings; no specific preparation is needed. Take any of your regular medications as prescribed by your doctor. It is a good idea to ensure you are properly hydrated to allow for ease of providing any test kit samples your health plan has determined you are eligible for.
-
Eye Screening – Our Care Access Pro will use a specialized camera to take photos of the back of your eyes. There will be a bright light for you to focus on so the camera can capture a clear image.
Bone density – A small amount of clear jelly will be applied to your forearm. Our Care Access Pro will guide a wand along the area to get a reading of your bone mineral density.
Blood pressure checks - You will take your blood pressure using either your own device or HealPros’ device, and we will record the reading.
A1c Kit – You will be given a lancet to provide drops of blood from your finger on a sample card, which will then be packaged and mailed to the lab for analysis.
Colorectal Cancer Kit – You will be given a kit with pre-paid mailing and instructions on how to collect the sample and return the kit to receive results. Sample collection will take place in the privacy of your restroom.
Kidney Health Kit - You will be given a 2-part kit that our CAP will walk you through. Part one is a lancet for a blood sample, part two is a urine sample in the privacy of your home restroom.

Eye images are taken by HealPros trained Care Access Pros. These images are then electronically transferred to an ophthalmologist to review the images and determine if retinopathy is present.
Our Care Access Pros also perform Bone Density Screenings. Those readings are sent to your primary care physician.
All kits are self-administered, then mailed to a lab to be resulted.
-
HealPros will transfer your images to an in-network ophthalmologist in your area who will be interpreting your results. If you are advised to follow-up for an in-office eye exam and you do not have an eye care provider, or you do not have a Primary Care Physician, you may call UnitedHealthcare Customer Service Advocates for assistance in locating a nearby in-network provider.
-
Results for completed screenings will be received via US mail by both you and your primary care physician within two to three weeks. Note that results will be sent separately for each screening completed. UnitedHealthcare will also receive your results.
